DGA for transformer oil

02/04/2009 9:38 AM

We are following the Standard for DGA is ASTM D 3612-02, Method A(Vacuum extraction). We are in starting stage . My question is how i can calculate gas content in the extracted gas from transformer oil using formula available in the ASTM standard? We are using multiple Gas Extraction system and our GC is SHIMADZO GC-2014. Please explain.

Hi

If you use multiple extraction system you not need any calculation. The gas volume you get is the gas in your oil. If you use partial degassing, then you have to use Qstwald coefficients.

The best way to calculate the gas in oil concentration is to use gas in oil standards and calibrate your system with known concentrations.
