Finite Element Analysis and Jet Grout Poperties

02/05/2009 2:32 PM

This is directed to anybody with some experience using FEM software, or expertise in jet grouting:

What would be a conservative unit weight (γ) and effective stiffness (E) to use for a jet body? A typical soil in the area of the excavation is γ=115pcf and φ=30*.

I'm trying to analyze a specific 4-stage support of excavation with sheet piles and a jet grout foundation at the pile tip.

I haven't found any posts on this forum thus far that even mention jet grouting...

In case anybody else needs similar info and finds this thread in their search, I found this hayward baker web page useful.
