Y Generator with Y and D Transformer

02/11/2009 8:57 PM

Dear Experts,

What should be considered when we have a Y generator at the upstream and some transformers with Y and D primary, connected to the bus from the upstream?

Thank you

Regards,

Adhyartha

What are you trying to do? Speading the current/load over time ? Star and delta have a phase shift from 30 degrees ?

Nope. I'm just trying to understand the philosphy of the designer. Because there were 3 units of Yyo transformers and 3 units of Dy5 transformers connected to the main busbar, while they're all catering the same type of loads, a 3 phase induction motor with Star-Delta.
