Hello Aly,

I will try to explain how unintelligible your request is.

........Can you tell me what computer I am using?

................See?, Not even close to being enough info' given by you or me in that example to you! Unfortunately, the ability to see into the future is kind of only fantasy at the moment! I ordered several short and long term distance into the future crystal balls. Trouble is there is such a huge demand from sites like this, you know?

Tell a whole lot more about what you are working on and what you want to do, this is the basic minimum of detail we need to work with. The way you have phrased your request I am not surprised you have had no replies.

It is not that anyone does not want to help! Your request MUST have lots more info', for anyone to answer it at all!

Take care, think about what I have written and write a more progressive and detailed question please?

No offence meant...................

SHALOOM Baby

Let me first tell you some notes about your essay!

1-I have searched about your CV to select the suitable language you can understand, unfortunately I found NOTHING!!

Do you feel shame when you mention your country???

May be I speak to student, worker, technician, engineer,Dipl.eng .....etc,these informations are basics in fair and usefull discussions?agree with me?

2-Your long essay has some phrases such as (uninttelligible, take care,no offence more

progressive......etc)Is that the language we have to speak with in our site?

3- I feel there is bitterness embeded in your comment!!!!! Are you from east of GAZA?

4-NOW:

I am not speaking about specific case needed to do my homework, but I am speaking about general case which needs only for two or three lines!!!

what are the more informations you need(give examples, please)?

Aly

Aly,

I do not think B. Bear intended to insult you. He used a long winded reply to state he felt not enough information is in the question to provide an intellegent answer.

I too am a bit puzzled by the question, as in the US "upgrade kits for pumps" is not a terminology I have come across. I wonder if it is something used in other parts of the world where parts supplies and purchasing options might be more limited? It may be more convenient for a pump manufacturer to put together "upgrade kits" instead of selling individual parts separately?

I am familiar with several pump options for various seals, drivers, corrosion resistant materials, etc., depending on type of service (water, drainage, sewage, oil, feed water, food service. etc.) In the US, with close proximity to suppliers and manufacturers, we have a wide variety and relatively quick service of options available to purchase and repair pumps. In more remote parts of the world, these options may not exist, and packaging of repair or upgrade kits may be most practical option.

I apologize for being long winded, but I am curious if this is the definition of the info you are looking for?

Ried

By the way, I do not publish my CV, location, or other identifying personal info on this site for my own reasons. I am sure B.Bear does the same. The information on this site is from many somewhat anonymous sources, and it is up to the final user to take this free advise with caution and verify before using it. Don't believe everything you read on this site. And as a somewhat international forum, be aware that mis-interpretations are possible. Be slow with judgements of insults from others and you will get along fine. Be careful and you can learn some interesting things here.

As far as what other infomation would be useful, you did identify cent. pumps. Identifying the general location, service, pressure, and temperature could be useful for people to respond to more specifically.

Again my apologies for being long winded.

Dear Ried

Many thanks for kind reply.

1-Actually I have astonished and shocked from Mr.bear ,for spending time to write 35 lines instead of one statement ,please ,more informations !! .This will show our discussions so usefull and efficient.

2-I read that new expression "up grade kits" in a very famous American institute papers:

I hear to the first time about this expression,so I intended to write to our friends in cr4.

I found it is something iteresting to be written in my book in Arabic language about pumps.

Sometime people get impatient with some of the vague posts that are not immediately answerable. Even I have a bad day once in a while. Do not mis-judge B. Bear, he usually has decent answers.

The link to McNally Institute was broken so I could not see what it said. Anyway, information on the internet should be viewed with a good deal of skepticism, unless you know the poster or are knowledgable in the particular field.

There are some interesting procurement issues with Arabic countries, so I would not be surprised that "Up-Grade kits" is a terminology to send repair, rebuild, or overhaul parts to a customer as a "simplified" process to get a complete shipment to a remote location. This is my "best guess" and I will stick with it until proven wrong. (which is not impossible!)

  • 1-Hear what you can see at mcnallly institute papers:
  • Eliminate shaft sleeves and use only solid, corrosion resistant shafts. This will
  • make a major difference in any piece of rotating equipment.
  • You can increase the shaft diameter by up-grading the centrifugal pump power end to a more robust model. Many pump and after market suppliers have adapters and up-grade kits readily available.
  • Stabilize the shaft with a sleeve bearing in the packing chamber and move the mechanical seal closer to the precision bearings. You can use any suitable material for the sleeve bearing with carbon, Ryertex, and Teflon being the most popular. Most people prefer to use split mechanical seals with these stabilization bushings
  • Thanks Ried
