why only D.C to synchronus rotor?why not a.c?

why the current is fed to the rotor ? (I guess you are talking about the rotor of a synchronous motor).

Think about it and then start shooting questions.

DC is used to lock the rotor to the AC in the stator. The AC rotates around the stator producing a magnetic field. The DC locks on to the magnetic field by producing an opposite field. If you used AC where would the lock be as the AC is cycling at what ever frequency your putting into the rotor.
