OLTC is On Load Tap Changer. Please read the link below

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tap_(transformer)

If you have any further doubts after reading please ask.

Are you asking about the OLTC operation principle or its drive?

Dear Sir,

The On Load Tap Changer will be driven by a 3 phase Induction Motor. The tap changing will be effected by this motor.

Raise/ Lowering the Tap is effected.

Best Regards,

N.Suresh
