Store Management Software

Is there any system to manage store.I want to modify my engineering store. i.e.How can I maintain stock of hardware and consumable parts.

There are lots of applications out there. For starters, Google a term such as "inventory management software".

Check out GnuCash- it's open source. I don't know how good the inventory parts of the package are, but I use the basic accounting features to run my consulting business- easy to use, one need not have a degree in accounting to understand it.

There are many software programmes available. It depends on what kind of system you have in your stores.Is it manual order picking or high rise stacker crane (AS/RS) system,multi floor order picking etc. These are integrated with equipments, so you have specify the system.

If you wish to replace old Kardex manual system then you have have full control on the stores otherwise your computer generated figuares will not tally with your physical stock.

You can try "www.QuickBooks.com". Its equally good for Store as wel as Finance. its user friendly. Riaz.
