Siemens marine propulsion systems

02/19/2009 3:17 PM

Hello,

I'm trying to get more information from anyone that has done a retrofit, with Siemens Simadyne D drives. We are about to change/up date ,our drive system, but there maybe a problem with the interphase reactors getting saturated in six pulse operation. I have more details if anyone has experienced just a conversion.

Hi there,

The Siemens Symadyne D is a very nice drive. I do not think you will have any problems with it itself - the only problem I see is getting people that actually know the product.

I have a mate who works around the world with these things - he has had no problems at all. They use them for SVC (static VAR compensation).

I have not found any manuals about the drive on the web - but you can try the Siemens Teleperm M manuals (the blocks used are almost the same).

Regards,

Craig
