	Dear all, Would u please advice me what is the easiest way to check the alternator and Engine coupling alignment checking? I have 400KVA, canopied FG Wilson Diesel generating set. This genset is dropped down at un loading period. I found that the engine and alternator base frame is bended, engine and alternator bracket is bended, engine oi sump also cracked. I don't have any alignment checking tools. Please advice how I can start the work to solve this problem. Thanks Hanif

	Please check up the condition of equipments since the amount of damage is serious and 400KVA is a large enough equipment. You do not want to start the machine and let everything fall apart. Alignment is always the end operation. 	This is where you will get us stumped. If it is new one why don't you contact the OEM for advise ? they will gladly come over and check it up for a few $s. Other option is their service man/ dealer. Easy on your pocket if it is insured. But knowing the health may save a quite few times money than allowing it to go on. 	Would be tough work for you, if the frame is bent and the Oil sump is cracked. The chances of internal damage are high. suggest contact the company themselves.

	if frame bent & sump cracked then it would be safe bet to salvage parts & make new frame. have insurance on same?
