Web Resources for a New Employee

02/27/2009 2:45 PM

I have just started a new job. It is fairly wide ranging, and therefore there are items of it I don't understand. Can anyone tell me of a website / textbooks with sections on

* P&I diagrams, incl photos of the valve/pump types (& why they are used)

* Simple electronics (ie building up of simple on-site boards)

Many thanks if you are able to help, Alan

A good, free source for fundamentals are the DOE Fundamentals Books:

http://www.hss.doe.gov/nuclearsafety/ns/techstds/standard/standard.html

They cover electrical, instrumentation, mechanical (pumps/valves/etc...)

Congratulations on the new job!

I wish you the best, and hope you find all the information you need.

You might try asking your employer to help supply you with any information/resources they want you to know.
