Just make a simple presentations with following highlights.

What is project?

Why is project?

What was before?

what was supposed to be achieved?

what all have been achieved ?with comparison charts and data,

why if something is not achieved?and when are you going to achieve it?

corrective actions and plans.

Your revised planning schedule.

One set of all developed docs.

and a thanking note.

Microsoft PowerPoint is a good tool for presenting.

"Reporting tool" is a very non-specific term.

Report: "In writing, a report is a document characterized by information or other content reflective of inquiry or investigation, which is tailored to the context of a given situation and audience." -en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Report

So any program that can display content based on an inquiry could be called a "reporting tool." Excel itself is a fairly powerful, and since you already have your data in Excel it would make sense to use Microsoft Office tools for reporting.

When it comes to creating a report the two main questions you need to ask are, "What am I reporting?" and "Who is reading the report?".

If you are presenting to a group about a project or some research, you may want to use PowerPoint, but if you are creating the report for a colleague or coworker and they just need the information in a concise format, then printing out your Excel sheets/graphs might be good enough.
