Peugeot 307 - Service Engine Light

Not much to work with on this. Try looking for poor grounds. Especially near the mounting of the computer, and around the battery. Check ALL fuses for continuity.

Was there any service, or repairs done recently that might have left something loose?

What has changed since the car was correct?

Lastly, what mileage is on the car? some vehicles have mileage warrantys that might still be in effect for emission controles. Another thought is that some emission systems need checking, or resetting at certain milages. If your car has passed that mileage, there will be a service reminder light that will direct you fack to the dealer $ervice department. Good luck.

The clutch was re newed at 35000 by peugeot dealership the car has now covered 39000 the service is due in another 5000 i have contacted dealer they want £50 an hour just to diagnost the car before correcting any faults

We had the same car with 75000 miles and the same light came on. It turns out that the antipollution fluid - urea - which is cyclically added to the exhaust to clear the soot from the catalytic convertor, runs out - the fluid tank is under the floor below the rear left seat. When this runs out you have to top it up - using the special pumps and hose in the £40 kit, but then the light will still not go out, so you have to take it to a dealer to haveit connected to their computer to be reset - another £45.

On the other hand, your car is much lower miles - if you have had it from new - and could just be one of the frequent sensor failures which occur on HDi engines.

Thanks for the reply. I remember that thread. Is it possible to determine the fluid level without sending one of the dealer's children to collage?

Reluctantly took the car to main dealer they check and cleaned all conections for the ECU and reset it all fault lights cleared and have remained so, cost £55.00 and they cleaned my car JCT600 Hull Thanks
