Fuse rating selection

Based on waht we select the fuse rating for:

  1. Transformer HT fuse: ex: if 500kVA 11/0.4 kV Tx current rating is 26.24A for HT side. what fuse we put for protection 25A or 30A? (waht % above the rated Current)
  2. For LT Feeders cable protection. ex: what is the fuse rating to be provided for cable size: 4Cx185 seqmm copper if the cable rating is 390A. is it 350A fuse? (waht % less than the rated Current)

I suggest you get a professional consultant in to advise you (I dont even know what country your installation is in).

I am working in a utility company in Oman (one of the Arab Gulf contries).

Table 450.3(B) of the National Electrical Code deals with primary and secondary overcurrent protection for transformers. If your installation is in the United States most local jurisdictions adopt the NEC though some may have more stringent requirements superceding the NEC.
