Not enough information

What country are you in?

What is the type of metal?

How thick is it?

How many holes are in it?

What size are the holes?

How many bends are in the part?

Can you transmit a drawing? A 3D cad model?

Does it matter if the part is burned? laser cut? punched?

How critical are the tolerances?

and I probably missed a few needed parameters.

boss.....

India

Any grade take any example of En series or HRCS with a standard 8 mm thick material. But u need to take into consideration that the component is made after going through most of the process so that process cost can be calculated seperately.

i need to have an excel sheet as how to do the sheet metal costing.

u can even take an example for a round bar or a standard sheet.

i need to have an excel sheet as how to do the sheet metal costing.

This is a valuable skill that you need to master. Doing spreadsheets with calculations shouldn't be too difficult to learn.

Try using the help tab and type in formula. Experiment with simple formulas to verify that you have generated the correct formula.

If you have difficulties perhaps you could email a copy of your spreadsheet. Perhaps a fellow countryman could help so we don't have any misunderstanding due to bad communication.

I was going to start the answering by a

What the OP feels - all magicians here ?

Do you seriously think any fellow countryman or otherwise can calculate process costs for this ?

You start with a round bar , then of course roll into sheet (sheet metal work you remember ? )

Hot/cold roll ? Starting diameter, sheet thickness, number of passes > cost of the rolling machine(overheads, running costs), .....

Only the process designers can do the calculation.

raw material , process cost, scrap generated, scrap rates - for each step of the process.

Let OP make a simple (no excell required) - make a costing for a turbine motor manufacturing. (no other information will be provided)- HP, Insulation ratings, Voltage, RPM, AC/DC.....

OK Boss....

Vicky_123 If your are really serious and wish to learn something, wasn't it your responsibility to write full details at first place with an example, do you believe that other members are supposed to create an example first and then make a reply for you?

We don't know what position you are enjoying at your works, but if you are really serious about your future success, you should seriously look in to your communication skills.

Best of luck.

I jept watching for quite a few hours waiting for somebody to start the or comment. It is not fair for my part to answer all of these posts, should give others chance too.

But in the end the wait was too much. Hence

Todays leaders always lead from background (not metaphorically, actually). Let the followers get the barbs(bullets if you want specific) , we will have the fruits, walking over them.

You can determine the cost of sheet metal according of its weight in kilograms. total cost = weight, kg times cost/kg...
