Data Output Error with NI Board

03/11/2009 12:53 AM

I tried to generate a sine wave in matlab and output to a D-A converter on NI PCI(6259) board and display on DSO. I am getting an error status code as "-200294".

When iam testing analog outout using measurement and automation explorer, iam getting the output displayed on DSO but there is a problem when iam trying to run the output using matlab.

When iam inputing data from external source ( sine wave from function generator ), iam able to see the output in matlab scope.
RAM used 256MB.

Please help me out ASAP. I am new to using NI boards.
thanking you in advance.

regards
archana

Error Explanation

Error -200294 occurred at an unidentified location

Possible reason(s):

Measurements: Not enough samples were written to satisfy the initial data transfer request condition.

To successfully start a generation, increase the number of samples initially written to the buffer before starting. Alternatively, decrease the number of samples required to start by changing the data transfer request condition.

It looks like a common error that shows up when you set parameters for input or output (or don't set the parameters and leave the default values) without carefully calculating their values. It's a software thing, so your board is fine, especially since it worked in MAX.

If you don't know exactly how to change those parameters, go on ni.com and ask on their forum. The online support they have is the best I've seen.

P.S.: NI stands for National Instruments, right?
