STAAD PRO Modeling Help

03/16/2009 1:38 PM

I am moddeling a concrete deck resting on vertical and batter(inclined) piles. I modelled the deck using plate elements. How do i add the piles at specific locations. I am advised to use linear members but don't know how to use them can you show me step by step procedure? I haven't used STAAD PRO before. Any help is greatly appreciated....Thank you so much....

Staad is a specialised software. Initial training is required before using it. Consider attending some staad course

Make a node on that specific location so that you can add external forces or your piles reactions. Better to analyze first whats the reaction on its piles using static check. And then concentrate on modeling using plate elements in you concrete deck.
