For 2520 mm diameter round tank what dimension should we cut the plate for making a torospherical head end
One approximation you could use for torispherical heads (because an accurate number depends on the manufacturer's exact method/procedure) is:
For thickness < 1":
Blank Diameter = OD + OD/42 + 2SF + (2/3)icr
For thickness ≥ 1":
Blank Diameter = OD + OD/24 + 2SF + (2/3)icr + t
Where:
OD = outside diameter of dish, inches
SF = straight-flange length, inches
ICR = inside-corner radius, inches
t = gage thickness, inches
Dear Sir,
What is meant by straight flange length sir.My round tank thickness is 15mm(4.4'').
Will there be any alteration in formula.
Regards,
Dinakar
The straight flange is the straight end portion before the knuckle (section F):
And the approximate formulas I gave will still be applicable, just use the one for thicker gages.
