http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friction

http://www.roymech.co.uk/Useful_Tables/Tribology/co_of_frict.htm

http://www.matweb.com/reference/coefficient-of-friction.aspx

...Results of a quick web search. You will need to first know the Values for each material. Look up your specific material data on....say .. Matweb. or look them up on a general table in the second link. the second link (although i did not study it in detail) should contain all the information you need. You did no specify which type IE static/sliding/rolling etc. so a more specific answer is not possible.

If you want to compute the friction between two bodies with a relative movement you will have to find or estimate the coefficient of friction and not to compute it.

Only when you make a test in the plant or in the lab you will compute the friction coefficient knowing the load and the force / torque required to make the parts move with respect to each other.

You need to use testing equipment. Here is an example Coefficient of friction.pdf. If you would like more information please contact us.
