Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators. It's a textbook used by the US Navy. Available in softcover.

Mechloyer420,

The "best" aero books I have used for airplanes are: Fluid-Dynamic Lift" by Hoerner and Borst, and "Fluid-dynamic drag" by Hoerner. The last phone and address (1996) was: P.O. Box 65283 Vancouver, WA 98665 Phone 360 576-3997

I agree, though the Hoerner books may not be the best for an intitial introduction. They are absolutely necessary for follow-up study.

John D. Anderson's "Introduction to Flight" is a well written book with good explanations of the theory and equations you'll need. It also has a selection of airfoil Cd, Cl, Cm plots that are handy to have.

Hi mechlover420, "Aerodynamics-----the ultimate artform. When you get it right, mighty beasts float up into the sky. When you get it wrong. people die" - Roger Bacon. There are many good books- to name a few : Aerodynamics for engg. students By Carpenter Houghton. Web text books-- www.soton.ac.uk. Also read Web textbook from University of Sydney - www.sciencecentral.com and so on.Hope this helps you. Rangasamy
