Snow Motor - Very Cool 1929 Design

Given enough buoyancy and width between those rotating drums underneath, it could easily be adapted to become some sort of "amphebious catamaran"

This thread screwed me up for a few hours.

I learned a lot of fun facts. Let alone that it is the mechanism that plastizes the polymer in the barrel of our modern molding machines.

This link is to the 1898 Archemedian screw used in the Klondike.

Here a more mod version. The 1924-29 Tractor version still has a coolness factor. My kids would have loved a shot at trying to flip that over.

As you can see that there are all kinds of claims of who was first with the idea. Even before Archimedes there was the Mesopothemians use of the screw.

In 1942 the Germans lay claim to their version of it for military use. The Us was not far behind.
