LIPS Boat engine control system

04/20/2009 2:19 AM

In the LIPS boat engine control system, there are two exhaust temperature sensors per bank per engine. Those are located; one before the turbo charger and the other after the turbo charger. Signals from these sensors are taken for Alarm and indication. I want to know, whether we can use signal from one sensor for the both purpose simulteneously.

Pre and post boost temp sensors are there for different reasons.

Mixing the same data between banks will only hide the data the engine is instrumented for.

Why not save space and cost by going to a combined gauge? Much safer!

As a diesel owner I would be pretty miffed if you reduced instrumentation available to me.
