dear ,

just by measuring ID OF STATOR - OD of rotor. = air gap of motor.

You may measure with the micro meter.

Correction:

(ID OF STATOR - OD of rotor.) / 2 = air gap of motor.

What is of importance is not only the air gap, but rather the concentricity of the air gap. It is fine to measure OD and ID as correctly stated by msamad, but if with the rotor installed all or most of the gap is in one direction you will have serious vibration problems.
