Earth Pit Resistance should be typically lesser than 2 ohms when connected to earth grid and should be lesser than 4 ohms when test pit is not connected to grid

However this may not be a complete information and may sometimes vary to higher level depending on design

Some international standards that can be ref DIN VDE 0141, ANSI/IEEE Std 80

Regards

dear,

pl. refer IS 3043 .

Earth pit resistance of Each electrode required generally < 1 Ohms.

But, for rocky area, tolerable up to < 5 Ohms.

If you find different results, then, you need to find out the solutions / remedies for the same. to get better earth results .

Infact, with the advancement of electronics, the results required are more stringent then the guide lines depicted in the IS standards.
