Looking for a Phone Number for Sprague Electric

05/05/2009 12:26 PM

My Dad, Robert Brickey worked for Sprague Electric in Nashua, NH for over 30 years. I would say from the late 50's to the mid 80's or maybe even later. he passed away in march of 2003. While at Sprague's he contributed to a retirement plan, savings plan. I am not sure what they called it then. He has somehwere over $40K that is due him and I can't seem to locate any info. I thought that it was through Allstate, but no one there could help me. It would be great if I could find someone who could.

You can reach me @slally@wachoviafinet.com or my husband @ jim_lally@hotmail.com

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Thank you, Suzanne (Brickey) Lally

Moose may be able to provide you with more information as he posted a blog about Sprague going out of business

I believe whatever is left of them is now owned by Vishay and they have contact info on their web page.

Good luck, hope someone else can give you more useful info.

I did a little snooping on the Internet and found a few references to a (but maybe not "the only") Sprague Electric retirement plan being related to an address in Cincinnati OH. Here's one such mention:

http://bulk.resource.org/gpo.gov/register/1996/1996_15140.pdf

Then I found this website, which at least seems to give some more info, including an address and phone #:

http://www.qdrodesk.com/plans/SPRAGUE-ASSOCIATES-401K-PROFIT-SHARING-PLAN-86221.shtml

Hope this at least points you in the right direction.

Wups. Please ignore that 2nd link up above. I gave you "Sprague & Associates" by mistake.

Below is the link I meant to post. My apologies!

Check with ERISA about abandoned plans. Start here

Hello Suzanne,

I'd also call Vishay at 402-563-6866 in Shelton, CT. Hopefully, they can help.

If that doesn't work, you may need to brush up on your Spanish. In 1986, another part of the old Sprague Electric Company was spun off into Commonwealth Sprague Capacitor. In 2000, all of that company's manufacturing operations were moved to Juarez, Mexico.

One final thought: You may want to check with the State of New Hampshire's agency for abandoned property. I'm now sure how Sprague Electric was registered in NH, but it is possible that your father's retirement money is now classified as abandoned property.
