Being that only one company in the entire world makes this FMCA starter, they are the only ones who can answer that question. This points out the concern I have expressed to people on going with such a unique product.

JRaef is correct. There is only one supplier for these and you have to go to them for advise on reconfiguration.

I have only dealt with them once and it was neither quick or pleasant.

Which part of your soft-starter burnt and what is your driving load (the power KW of your fan).

I think the actual problem of your soft-starter failure is not the thermostat problem. Thermostat does not cause the soft-starter to fail or breakdown. Thermostat is to monitor the temperature of the motor winding (if you install it to the motor) or in other case to monitor your soft-starter panel temperature (if your soft-starter has a thermostat). Any temperature that over the set temperature of the thermostat will trip your electrical system for safety.

By the information that you have given to me, it is seem that, you are loading your soft-starter more than 100% to 120% capacity of your soft-starter.

Your soft-starter is rated at 475KW at 33KV and your motor power is also at 475KW at 33KV. In general, we always install one step higher capacity of the soft-starter for the rated motor power (KW). For example, if I am using 475KW motor, my soft-starter will be a step higher, something like 520KW soft-starter.

This is to ensure that during the motor is in operation, there is always a buffer zone for the soft-starter to play around with the extra power it have. There are something that you don't see or notice during the operating of your motor.

For instance, if your voltage drop from 33KV to 30KV or your fan may slightly jammed during operation, your motor current will increase and thus will cause your soft-starter and your motor temperature to increase.

We have been using so many soft-starter in here but so far we don't have these problem with the thermostat problem.

There is a lot of electronic temperature sensor and controller in the market that you can used. You can use PT100 temperature sensor and most of the controller are universal where you can use to replace your thermostat problem.

I think it's better that you consult the provider.
