Job Opportunities: 3 Open Power Systems Engineer Positions in Raleigh, NC

Our client, new to the Raleigh area and ready to make their mark in the Triangle, is currently seeking experienced professionals with exceptional backgrounds in the design, and implementation of complex optimization, software and hardware systems. This is a chance to be a critical member of a world class, award winning team!!

We have multiple positions available for Mid and Senior level Engineers specializing in power systems. All positions are full time salaried positions offering full interview and relocation expenses!!!

SENIOR ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading a team performing transmission/distribution system off-line studies for services contracts with power utilities and agencies.
  • Help with RFP documents by specifying study tasks and steps that involve steady state and dynamic power system studies.
  • Prepare scope of work (SOW) documents by collecting customer requirements.
  • Prepare study project task breakdown, time estimates and budgets to meet the requirements.
  • Assign engineers to specific tasks and advice them on the study requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and lead a group of engineers in performing power system studies.
  • Perform power system planning studies.
  • Prepare project study reports and present them.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power System Analysis or related background.
  • 5-10 years of experience conducting power system studies at a utility or consulting company.
  • 3 years of experience as a senior engineer performing power system studies.
  • Very good understanding of power system analysis problems, especially loadflow, contingency analysis, voltage stability and optimization problems such as OPF, economic dispatch and unit commitment.
  • Experience preparing SOW documents and project final reports.
  • Experience with power system study tools such as GE PSLF or PTI PSSE.
  • Passionate about learning new tools and techniques in performing system studies.

Special Priority will be given to candidates with the following skills:

  • Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems background.
  • Experience with dynamic stability analysis.
  • Programming and scripting experience.

Compensation: Excellent compensation and benefit plan including participation in

bonus, stock option, and stock ownership plans. Compensation is based on experience and performance
