Green sky before hail or tornados

The green sky phenomenon is something science is still coming to terms with, scientifically. Frank Gallagher III gave a presentation on it for Penn State. His conclusions were the following :
They are fairly rare, only about 3 per year in the US.
Green thunderstorms are of varying shades (Some are even blue)
People often refer to green storms as "brighter"
