I don't know of the medical x prizes available but this is my wishlist for a biomedical engineering electronic x prize set for 2009. Do you think it's too much, too little, easily improved upon or unsuitable considering testing times. Obviously it's not rocket science but medical innovation has a lot of possible sizzle in media terms!
Medical engineering breakthrough wish list possibilities.
Internal fat electronics agitator membrane for the clinically obese.
Lung air bypass blood oxygen motor.
Lung air agitator, filter and pulser motor for sensitive lung conditions.
Combination internal organ electronic patches for heating, electric pulsing, agitating, squeezing.
agitating filters, for cancer and disease, thumping area with filter catching less healthy flat response cells or disease response attempts such as rapid dispersal or rapid dislodgement uncharacteristic of healthy cells as per regional application.
cellular removal syringe, containment syringe capable of isolating individual cells.
cell mover signal generator capable of opening new cavities or fillings by publishing false reports at the cell signal build or break level.
perfect timing membranes that trigger activities between pulses to ensure healthy cyle.
In organ artificial tissue with artificial input activity capability, allowing robotic control of correct therapy.
cell wall size remodel membrane tool, (cell wall jig) for steady build up or trim down push or pull on cellular activity.
Empty hand technology! Artificial robotic hollow limb recreator that prompts nerve growth extension in some cavities whilst prompting tissue growth in others and another aiding bone structure development.
