06/02/2009 11:55 PM

I am looking for type of thermoplastic elastomer ( TPE) with shore D hardness between 40 ~ 65 that can spray painting?

The application of this product is memory card door for mobile phone cover, the purpose is for decoration.

The reliability requirement must achieved ISO class 1 in adhesion test.

All suggestions and ideas are most welcome.

That seems very hard for TPE. Maybe Shore A?

I don't think TPE responds well to solvent thinning and spraying.

If you come up with something, let these guys know.

That depends on one's definition of a TPE. Polyurethanes (TPUs) go to typically 75 - 80 D in either aromatic or aliphatic chemistry. One would need strong solvents to dissolve such a TPE. Adhesion might be a concern at those hardnesses, again depending on the chemistry,

Sprayable polyurethanes are available.

We used one as a wear resistant coating, but this would be much thicker than your application.
