Caterpillar Engines 3512B AND 3508B

11/30/2006 4:19 AM

2 CAT ENGINES - 3512B - SER.NO. 2GW00359 - ARR.NO.: 1809193

AND

3508B - SER.NO. 3DM00340 - ARR.NO. : 1736952

MY QUESTIONS ARE

ARE THE FUEL INJECTORS THE SAME ? AND HAVE THEY THE SAME SPECIFICATIONS?

AND CAN I USE THE SAME TYPE FOR BOTH ?

No, The 3512 is a 1100hp @ 1200 rpm marine Propulsion Engine, The 3508 is a 600kw @ 1500 rpm generator set engine.

The injectors are different part #'s and have different fuel delivery rates based on HP requirements.

Why would you want to interchange them?

CAT Reman injectors 10R1284 cost is $664.89ea. for the 3512

and 10R1288 cost is $ 664.89ea. for the 3508
