Plasma Arc Waste Disposal units

06/09/2009 5:18 PM

I am interested in the Plasma Arc Technology.

Does anyone understand the different type units? I have looked online and there are several manufacturers. Is there major differneces in these units? If so, What are the advantages of one over the other?

Does anyone have a preference?

Thanks everyone.!

Well, actually, of course, depending on the manufacturer, there may be a lot of differences in the equipment. But the technology of using the plasma arc (ionization, heating, gas transformation to plasma and ejection) is a basic concept used in all of them. Are you more interest in welding, cutting, or metal spray? In my view, the different processes will dictate the main equipment differences.

Can you please post the links to the several manufacturer's websites as I am only aware of one company producing a commercialised system (see previous threads on CR4 on this subject). Then we can have a look at the most up to date developments.

Thanks.

Did you see this posting last week http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/38719/Plasma-Cutters-on-eBay on plasma cutters? Response #4 has good/bad comments on several of the major brands.

Here is an old posting to reveiw http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/25134. It has less brand specific information.

This one is rather heavy http://cr4.globalspec.com/thread/31431. It does not address brands, but sometimes a little knowledge is a good thing.

Hi Jammit

I am a novice in this equipment. However, i have a potential new/different use for this type unit. I have talked with some that have various benefits and just trying to ask if anyone that may have specific knowledge to the different units. Each one seems to have either history, cost or longer life as a benefit. Just looking for an independent review from someone who understands the units.
