It's natural that the equipment defined here is any type apparatus installed on board. It is no matter with the area in which equip used and the type of vessel. Here i just want to konw LR's requirement. In ABS's rules the products needing approval are listed in a table. Generally the major equipments are not clearly different on ship, except for special use which is the characteristic of ship.

FRM1999,

Don't ask Us, ask them! You may need to be a specific as to what you want to do. The classification societies surveyors have quite a wide remit to determine what has, and has-not, to be included. Ask the office that you will be dealing with.

Regards

Chas.
