Pyramids made of concrete?

12/02/2006 6:49 PM

Are the pyramids made of a primitive concrete? The quarry where the stone was mined has sea shells deposited in layers, as is normal for sedimentary deposits, however, the stone blocks of the pyramids have the sea shells evenly and uniformly distributed, much as aggregate is in modern concrete. Could this be the secret to the precise fit and incredible size of the pyramids? It is at least, food for thought.

Are you mixing apples and oranges? Perhaps you are getting the allegation that the stone block were made of concrete, poured at the site, and put in place.

Stone is stone. It was quarried and moved to the pyramid sites by barge and labor crews. Are you suggesting that a primitive form of concrete was mixed and poured to form the rock to be later quarried? The alleged precise fit of stone to stone is not as good as what makes a good story.

You need to take the time to research such matters lest ye be perceived as gullible or worse missing a few marbles out of the bag. Go to the the public library and read a book by Mendelsonn, titled "The Riddle of the Pyramids" circa 1970. He took a real scientific look at pyramid construction and how so many were build over some 200 years. Also of more current date is the work of a retired carpenter, amateur pyramidologist, in Michigan who proposes and demonstrates how the massive blocks could have been moved into place as well as raised from one level to another. Thanks for the link! That guy is truly incredible. I have seen his video.

Food for thought , I said..and a nice snack that was.

Now, here is another snack for your processor: http://www.geopolymer.org/category/archaeology/pyramids/

Just don't get too much emotional investment in any of this...I just like to drop a baited hook every now and then to see what bites....

I had forgotten, but thought this was settled, back when I first heard about this in the late '80s at the academy in a material sciences class.

I remembered seeing a YouTube video reference, and Googled it here:

for those who wish to see the "how to"

Of course, they didn't have stainless steel rebar, so the sphinx's nose just wasn't able to stay on once the reconstituted limestone got some water inside the cracks...pity

I also thought it interesting that they dressed up like Egyptians, rather than putting on Hebrew slave costumes...

Or they could have levitated the rocks in the same way Ed Leedskalnin built the "Coral Castle" in Homestead Florida.

I've always been fascinated about the Coral Castle. Even if he didn't use ESP powered by aliens from the Bermuda Triangle.

It is a beautiful piece of architecture and if people haven't seen it you should check it out.
