Compressed Air Calculation

06/21/2009 2:20 AM

Please let me know how to calculate the air consumption for following scenario:

In a tank of 400 ltrs a product is entered with sp. gravity of 1.56. The constant pressure of air on a tank is 3.5 bar which enters through pressure regulator and maintained at 3.5 bar throughout. even while product is getting consumed and than again refilled.

What is the products flow ?

It's pressure.?

I assume it is refilled under the 3.5 bar

It could be the product flow in volumen by 3.5 .

So the tank is closed , under 3.5 bar

Each time you refill , 50 kg/min * 1/ 1.56 kg /liter = 32.5 liters/min enters the tank.

What is the outcoming flow?

If incomimg is at the same outcoming , no air spent.

In some cases product flow varies to 40 kg/min and air is getting escaped thru exhaust port.

Its depend on your consumption volum you need to study what is your consumption like you use 100 x100 size cyl double acting cyl so study which CFM requir that cyl then go to your compressure output CFM then calculate loading & unloading time of compressure
