What is stopping you from getting information about GaAs PV cells? Not enough money for books? Can't use the university library? Unable to or too lazy to use the internet?

<deep sigh>

First, this forum has a policy against homework assignments. However, because of your honesty about this being a school project, I'll give you a little advice.

At my school to be able to do a senior project on anything not already on an advisor's suggested project list, the student had to locate an advisor interested in the project. Typically this required considerable knowledge of the topic prior to formally starting the project. For if none of the advisors already have interest in your idea it is either already considered a well understood trivial project, or so far out of any advisor's expertise that you must do all of the work with minimal guidance. In either case, you will have to have at your mental fingertips enough knowledge of your project to either explain why this is not trivial or that you have enough knowledge to succeed on your own. So do your own research on your project, you will need it.

Good Luck

If you "need to know about GaAs photocells", then I'd suggest reading about them on line and in the university library. Once you have done some research and have some specific questions you might want to return here. In your Google search, you will want to make sure that you enclose the phrase in quotes: "GaAs photocell" "GaAs photovoltaic" etc.

If you design an experiment for testing some aspect of GaAs cells against other types, (or if you have a novel production method you'd like to test, etc) and have specific questions on circuit design, standardized light sources, the mechanics of test fixtures, etc, then people here could try to answer those specfic questions.
