Designing an Alumunium HPDC System

does any body know how to calculate and make an optimal design when you just know the casting weight..

i mean the rest of as gating,ingate and overflows design (height, length, deepth, thickness...etc) when you just have the casting. its a alumunıum hpdc system.

can anybody help me how to make a optimal design and how you calculate them when you just know the casting.

How do you design anything without knowing the required dimensions and applied loading? You can't. Find out from whoever asked you to do this.

What do you understand by "optimal design"?

In order to use "optimal" you should specify from which point of view it has to be optimal and THIS is NOT mentioned in you request.

Try to be more specific and you could may be get an answer if we can give it.
