LF2 is a grade within the specification SA/A-350; with Class 1 and 2 as subgrades to LF2.

WPL6 is a grade within the spec SA/A-420:

If you are referring to the 'WPL' of the grade WPL6 of SA-420, I am not sure what it stands for.

Within SA-420, there are other grades as well, for example: WPL3, WPL8, WPL9

And because this spec is for fittings I would guess that "Welding Pipe Length" is meaningless - I would say that it could possibly be a hold over from the old days, and may mean something like "Welded Pipefitting Low-temperature",

In any case, I don't think it is important - it is just nomenclature; for example, what does the "420" stand for in SA/A-420? The answer is nothing - it is just a number.
