Hydrogen cyanide and Ammonia Emissions to Air

07/21/2009 3:13 AM

Is there anyone out there who works in manufacturiong or Industry who emits gaseous HCN or Ammonia from a stack? What sort of emission levels are you regulated to?

Are they anywhere near 5mg/m3 for HCN or 10mg/m3 for NH3?

We have the guidelines for the cyanides in the industrial waste (water) and that is in fraction of ppm level.

However teh safety standards allow for quite a bit more. You may refer to http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/toxprofiles/tp8-c8.pdf

and the HSE requirements as per your area.
