Dear Thread,

the Brockhaus has a sciences pocket book. Since nearly 200 years "Brockhaus" has been the synonym for "encyclopedia" in the German-speaking part of the world. Am sure they have an englisch version.

Good luck

Schaum's Outlines are simple and inexpensive. Easy to understand Physics. I am in a college course and the teacher uses the Applied Physics as the text book for the Physics I & II courses. There aren't any experiments in the book but he and a colleague wrote their own lab book. Lee Craig at York Technical College in Rock Hill South Carolina. http://www.yorktech.com/department/science/craig/ this is his web page. Lee is a great teacher and the labs really bring to light the equations and relations between the elements of physics.
