Immersible Solenoid Valve

Hi,

Anybody can tell me about the immersible solenoid valve, which can be used to control fllow of a fluid and the solenoid valve should be immersed under sea water of 10 metre depth. The solenoid valve should 2 way to handle sea water inside the valve and it requires to on/off the sea water flow to a tank, which all comes under the sea water.

This required for an marine technology research project.

If you don't care of others laughing on you here is an option,

Take a good quality valve, fix all the cables and pipes on it, make sure everything is fixed well, take a thick good polythene bag, put it in poly bag, tie it well with some thread.let pipe come out from mouth of poly bag.

Now get a rectangular steel or plastic can, buy some polyester resin with hardener, mix it in prescribed ratio and pour in can.

Pick poly bag with solenoid and push deep in resin. do it as quickly as possible so that resin don't get cured before you dip it.

let the resin cure, Thats your encapsulated solenoid valve.

Looking on the size of project one can afford to dispose, This not an expensive item.

You might try a small PVC ball valve with plastic fitted actuator. Run your air supply from a conventional solenoid valve above the surface. Thus, powering a submerged valve is eliminated. You would have to run wiring and perhaps conduit to an electric valve anyway, so why not a 1/4" air line instead. An air-to open-spring to close actuator would enable a single air supply line. Check with manufacturer regarding running below water surface.
