How to detect the content of post consumer materials in a plastic product

Is there any useful method to detect the content of post consumer materials in a molded plastic product?

Don't know what's up with the weirdo in post #1. Sneaky commercial post, I guess.

There is no way to detect the content of post consumer materials in a molded plastic product?

does recycled = post consumer materials?

Many molders reuse the runners and sprues by regrinding them and adding to the next batch. I guess this would be percomsumer content.

Post consumer material is different from post industrial material.

The runners and sprues you mentioned is not the post consumer material but the post industrial material.

We need to buy green heart material with more than 75% recycled resin(try to meet EPEAT evaluation criterion),but we worried about that the supplier will add more virgin material instead of post consumer material because the virgin material is cheaper than the post consumer material.

Wouldn't most of this "post consumer" product be in the form of a re-grind? ( I guess I'm assuming use of powders) and the virgin material in a smaller powder form? Maybe perform tests on melt time, fusion torque, flow rate etc. using different known compositions, 80% virgin, 50% virgin, 25% etc. this way you could compare. Again Im assuming powders, Im not familiar with recycled plastics. Hope this helped a little. Good Luck.
