Dryer Membranes for Hydrocarbon Gas and Condensate Removal

08/17/2009 10:27 PM

Hi , does anyone know whether is there a solution for getting rid of the condensate found in the pipeline of the Off-shore platform and allows the hydrocarbon gas thru' without affecting the membrane dryer?

You previously asked this question in a slightly different form. Shooting from the hip, I'm going to suggest that hydrocarbon molecules are much larger than water vapor molecules and that any membrane that allows hydrocarbons to pass through will also allow water to pass. Desiccant drying may be more effective because the pores in desiccants are sized to trap water exclusively. Refrigeration drying may also work. Remember that all dryers have a maximum flow rate. If you exceed that rate, the moisure content will rise.
