Hi, Manir

Tan Delta could be measured with a TanDelta Test equipment along with Hi-voltage VLF 0.1HZ source and it should be less than 1.2X10-3 for healthy XLPE cables.

TD is an excellent diagnostic tool for MV XLPE cables.

TD is indication of aging of cable.

As the cable losses increase TD value will increase.

TD is used to optimise over voltage testing and limit the stress of cables.

Good luck

we are testing in power trafo of 100MVA 220kv/33kv. we apply 2kv and 10kv in trafo for tan delta. result come .004. so what is this .004. is it tan delta=.004 or angle delta=.24 degree
