Wet Grinding machine at variable speed with remote control

12/15/2006 7:25 AM

I am from Chennai, India. Here Wet grinders are very famous , ac motors ranges from 1 hp to 3hp are being used. I need your inputs to modify the design by giving variable speed motor in turn we can save energy and quality , in addition if it is remote controlable , it will be handled by everyone and it will be user friendly.

I hope you can follow my question, Kindly Keep in ouch.

Thnaks with Regards,

S.Sankar.

Are the motors 3 phase? If so, it should be as easy as getting any one of the VFDs available on the market. Most allow external Start-Stop control and external speed control with a potentiometer and the cost is very reasonable for the size you are looking for. Parameters can be programmed in to limit the speeds so as not to hurt the motor (large speed ranges can be can be tough on non-inverter duty motors). Worst case is you may have to upgrade the motor to an inverter-duty.

If you are unsure, best to call in a local distributor of VFDs and they can help you with your application.

Dear Friend,

Thankyou for your suggestion, it is single phase motor, it uses maximum of 1.5 HP

it uses only lighing load, it has been categorised under home appliances, any way i will try with your inputs and update you at the earliest.

Wish you a Happy and Merry X-Mas and Prospeous 2007 with full of Joy.

the load could be serve as constant power machine. most people say its not prominence for the load to use the vfd. so you'd best choose a soft starter. these set cheaper than vfd. and install an auto swithcher to save energy. your wireless remote controller is good enough but no use here for the load. it may expensive. how much for a near distance controller? 100--300M?
