LIFTING HOOKS

LETS SAY YOU WERE GOING TO MACHINE A HOOK OUT OF A BLOCK OF STEEL. WHAT KIND OF STEEL WOULD IT HAVE TO BE AND AFTER MAKING IT DOES IT HAVE TO GO THROUGH A HEAT TREATMENT?

Before doing that, I'd look for the Caps Lock key and turn it off.

Do not, I say again do not, machine lifting hooks. Forge them. Better yet, buy them from someone who does forge them.

I would have said never .

None of the lifting tools and tackles- Hooks, Eyebolts, Chains are ever machined, at least as far as I know, and we buy/ specify.

Please check up the relevant standard of your country for these.
