It's getting to be time to compress and delete old files in my Microsoft Outlook. I've had this done remotely by a computer shop (at $100 each time), where they take over my confuser, whiz around my file system, and compress/delete (or whatever they do) to get rid of all the deleted files.
It seems that you can delete trash and old messages from Outlook, but it really doesn't get rid of them. Outlook hangs onto them until I use up the 2 Gbytes of storage allocated, and then Outlook refuses to operate any more until the files are physically deleted by some mysterious process known only to the computer shop.
Last time the shop did it, I tried to write down where they went and what they did on my machine, but they moved way too fast for me. Does anyone out there know what I am talking about? Can you explain the procedure for cleaning up Outlook files? By the bye, it's Windows XP.
