ALUMINIUM BUSBAR SIZE

I HAVE A 3 PHASE ALTERNATOR OF 320 KVA RATING. I WANT ALUMINIUM BUSBAR SIZE FOR LOAD DISTRIBUTION. LOAD CABLE IS 240 MM SQUARE ALUMINIUM.

Please give more information. What is the rated Voltage 380V, 415V, 420V, 440V or 480V.

If I understand , your question you want to put aluminium bus bar in place of power cable . Presently u are using 240 sq mm Aluminium cable.

So for 320 KVA however we need Voltage also but if I assume your Alternator is designed for 415 Volts in that case 320 KVA load would be around 556 Amps with Power factor of 0.8 lagging.

so for 556 amps current you need 15 X 2.5 mm size Flat rectangular Bus bar this can take 562 amps load and considering load type you need to design higher side so go for 20 X 4 mm size falt Rectangular Bus Bar.

You have not supplied nearly enough information for us to answer your loud, vague and potentially dangerous application.

Please see the numerous previous threads on CR4 on the subject, or alternatively get a professional to design and wire your alternator.
