"2 position 3 ways", Very right.

Can a '3 position 2 ways', possible?

Common, '2 position 3 ways' are basically ball or plug types.

Typical applications include: valves at filters and coolers.

Typical requirement: to divert the common inlet flow to one or the other filter (or cooler). Advantage: Shutting down one filter (or cooler) and commissioning the other can be simultaneously done by a single quarter/half turn.

Normally the flow restriction is not preferred but might happen for cost/economical reasons.

3 positions 2 ways is possible with both closed or open.

3 positions 3 ways as well.

Choice made for the expected flow and wished pressure drop.

With this valve you are not able controll things and you have to be in 2 positions with 3 way valve or 2 or something like that.i think you need to have a mogulation valves with multi step positions and controlle it with a driver if you wanna make a easy robat.

This is called a non-proportional diverting valve. Honeywell is a great resource for selection- you have to know a little engineering, though.
