Dirigibles and Hygroscopic Material Eventuality

08/31/2009 2:16 AM

Are dirigible airships always going to allow the content gas to be mixed with oxygen due to moisture intrusion as an eventual probability? Does this mean any dirigible airship requires a filtration system that removes moisture immediately or just sufficiently over an expected time?

Gaseous air goes through much easier than water. In general, outgassing is the problem, them little helium atoms n' all.

Egress is more probable than ingress when the interior element is smaller proportion! Should I bank that?

"Gaseous air goes through much easier than water"

Water molecules are by far the smallest gaseous component of air and will diffuse through an organic barrier faster than other molecules.
