How Will CARB or the EPA Define Off-Road?

09/02/2009 11:25 AM

Is the Aftermarket industry ready for the new regulations for 2011? How about 2012 or 2013? Is this fair? Or is it time to take responsibility? Or simply is it catchup time? What are you thoughts? Any SEMA members want to chime in?

Are you saying that just because these vehicles are being used off road that EPA should acknowledge that and just let them pollute the environment?

Is it fair that everyone's motor vehicle will have to comply other then those used for recreation?

Really what's the difference between aftermarket and nonroad when it comes to diagnostic (OBDII) regulation?

I certainly think everyone needs to comply with emissions regulations, but who's getting the free pass?

Just found a cool Twitter User named OBDII_Experts. They answer OBD questions in 140 characters or less. Anyone ask them?

How could they regulate it? Randome inspections? It can't work. It's like back in High School we would torch out the fiberglass in a muffler thet ounly check that you had a muffler, not that it was working as designed.
